Announcing Delta V5

The team at Spire Technology is excited to announce the next major release of the Delta platform – Delta V5. It is the culmination of a year of development and testing in television production environments.
Delta V5 is the biggest update we've ever released. It is a complete ground-up redesign of every element of the platform, featuring a sleek new user interface, dozens of powerful new features, and over 100 improvements.
Delta V5 will be launching on Tuesday, September 5th, 2023. More details about the launch are included at the end of this article.

Library
The Library is where Delta users view and manage their media. Delta V5 adds several major features to your Library that are game-changers for post-production teams.
AI-powered search
You can now search your footage library using natural language. Just tell Delta what you're looking for, in plain English, and Delta will find it for you.
Tapes shot in October on camera B, where the transcript contains "John"
Show me tapes from Season 5 that start with "ES" but don't have media.
Find tapes where the tape ID is missing the camera or load.

Advanced search filtering
When you need fine-grained control over your search, Delta V5 has your back with powerful, expandable search filtering.
Filter against any field in Delta, and combine filters into logical groups, enabling you to drill-down to the records you're looking for.

Transcripts
Since Delta was first launched, the transcript editor has been one of the most-used features of the platform. Delta V5 brings major improvements to transcripts.
AI-powered Auto-Transcribe
Delta now features auto-transcribe, with incredible accuracy better than any tool we've seen before. With a single click, you can generate an auto-transcript for any clip in your Library. Just moments later, it's ready for review and playback directly in Delta.

Dynamic timecode detection
The Delta transcript editor now detects all timecodes in transcripts and turns them into clickable buttons to seek through the source media.
Best of all, this works for all transcripts, whether they were manually typed in Delta, copied and pasted into Delta, or generated by AI – all timecodes are detected.

Slack integration
Most of Spire's customers use Slack for their day-to-day work. With Delta V5, we've integrated Slack to enable real-time notifications and alerts for Delta events.
Get notified in Slack when new media ingests, auto-transcripts are ready, users are added or removed, storage space is running low, and much more!

Media Ingest
Media ingest is at the core of Delta, and makes all the other features possible. With Delta V5, we tackled several of the biggest challenges our customers face when importing and storing media in Delta.
Store your Delta proxies on your NEXIS or NAS
Delta V5 brings support for storing Delta proxies on a network drive, such as a NEXIS or a traditional NAS. Instead of worrying about storage space and external hard drives – your team has absolute control over your Delta media.
Storage health at-a-glance
Delta now gives you a quick way to check the storage space and health of your Delta proxy drives, as well as your watch folders (ie. NEXIS workspaces). With Slack alerts you can get notified when you're running out of space, so you can take action before it becomes a problem.

Ingest from any media source
Delta now ingests any recognizable media from your editing environment (including raw / source / proxy), even if it doesn't exactly match your configured tape naming scheme.
